updated

Which designs suit the chest

Wide across both sides or one side alone; a chest piece spans the collarbones. Hidden by most shirts. The muscle shifts when the arms move, and the centre line has to sit on the breastbone. A piece like the eagle woodcut fills one side of the chest at 15 cm.

Before you book

Measure the spot on yourself along the skin, following the curve, not in a straight line. Bring the size in centimetres to your artist, with front and side views: how to plan a tattoo covers the rest.
